Disney Cruises aren’t just for kids. If they were, why would there be bars onboard?! We think some of the best Disney Adult Only Trips can be taken on a Disney Cruise. And their fantastic lounge spaces are one reason why. One of our favorite spots onboard a Disney Cruise is Meridian Lounge. Only available on two Disney Cruise ships, here’s everything to know about the Meridian Lounge.
One of our favorite things to do onboard any Disney Cruise Ship is to visit the Disney Cruise Bars and Lounges. And not because we’re drinkers, because we’re really not. We do however love a good theme, beautiful spaces, trying all the mocktails, and every once in while having some kind of amazing drink, that just makes it all worth while. Combined with gorgeous views and live music ( sometimes) Disney Cruise Lounges are some of our favorite places onboard. Better still, not all of Disney Cruise Lounges are for adults only, as many of them serve as activity spaces during the day. Trivia, Crafts, Towel Folding Classes, and Games fill the lounges throughout the day. However, some Disney Lounges are for Adults Only, all of the time and the Meridian Lounge is one of them.
Meridian Lounge Atmosphere
Since Meridian Lounge is tucked away, many guests seem to either forget about it, or maybe just don’t know where it is. It generally tends to be very chill and relaxed. And the theming of the bar is just beautiful. Decked out in leather to represent a traveler’s suitcase, this space is cozy, warm and inviting. Be sure to look around the lounge for all the little details that have been put in place. You can find map elements, compass graphics, and subtle nods to the sophisticated explorer.
The outside deck is one of our favorite places to watch the ship sail away. And it doesn’t usually get crowded until later in the evening. So, if you’re looking for a chill place to enjoy a drink while the ship leaves port, head to Meridian and you might just get lucky with a less crowded space.
Which Disney Cruise Ships have Meridian Lounge?
Meridian Lounge is one of our favorite spaces on the Disney Cruise ships. And can only be found on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. Located between Palo and Remy on Deck 12 aft, many guests gather here before or after their reservation at Palo or Remy. And it’s a great spot for before or after dinner drinks.
Where is the Meridian Lounge on a Disney Cruise Ship?
The Meridian is located between Palo and Remy on Deck 12 aft, on both the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream. Many guests gather here before or after their reservation at Palo or Remy. And it’s a great spot for before or after dinner drinks.
Do You Have to be an Adult to Visit the Meridian Lounge?
Yes, reserved for the 18+ crowd, the Meridian is for Adults Only.
When does the Meridian Open?
One of the best things about this space is that it tends to open up earlier in the day. Usually opening at noon, many other bars and lounges around the ship often don’t open until the afternoon or even the evening. So, if you’re looking for a little escape earlier in the day, Meridian is a great option. Of course, hours change frequently, so always be sure to check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for details.
Does Meridian have a dress code?
Yes and no. Meridian requests that you dress in more formal or semi formal attire. This means nice dress pants and collared shirts for men, or nice pants or jeans and blouses for women. However, if you plan to just utilize the outside space, they generally allow t-shirts and more casual wear. Just don’t plan to show up in a swimsuit or flip flops, or you’ll likely be turned away. You can see the full dress code at Meridian here.
Can you smoke cigars at Meridian?
Yes, you can. While smoking is not at all allowed inside, there is an outside deck area that guests can smoke on. Guests are only allowed to smoke on the deck that’s on the right-hand side, when facing toward the front of the bar. The left-hand side is non-smoking, so if you’re unsure, always ask first!
Meridian Lounge Drinks
The menu at Meridian Lounge is a creative one! In tandem with the theming of the lounge, the drinks are inspired by travelers. And we love that they have several non-alcoholic beverages on their menu, and they’re quite good! So even if you’re not a drinker, you can still enjoy this space with a hand-crafted drink in hand. You can expect to find drinks like the Singapore Sling, SideCar, The Gimlet, Negroni and many more. You’ll also find a variety of scotch, bourbon and cognac. As well as a wine and champagne list.
One thing that’s quite impressive about Meridian is their bartending staff. Don’t see what you’re looking for on the menu? Let the bartender know and they’ll be able to make pretty much whatever you want. And will often even be able to create a custom drink based off your tastes.
Meridian is one of our all-time favorite spots onboard the Disney Cruise Ships. Though it can only be found on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, it’s a treat to be able to visit when sailing on one of these ships.
