Canada Place

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Location

The Pan Pacific Vancouver Cruise Port Hotel is located on the second floor of Canada Place and overlooks the waterfront. It sits directly atop the Canada Place Cruise terminal. If you’re sailing out of Vancouver to Alaska on Disney Cruise Line, or any other cruise line for that matter, you can’t beat this hotel for the convenience. Essentially, the location is really what you’re paying for here. Not only is it located on top of the cruise port, providing guests with easy access to the port and all it has to offer. But it’s also an easy walking distance to many other great parts of downtown Vancouver.

We were able to enjoy tea at the Fairmont Hotel downtown with an easy 10-minute walk. There is a Starbucks located right around the corner. Literally a 5-minute walk. And there are plenty of great places to eat in the area. Being able to watch the Disney Wonder sail into port on the morning of our cruise from the hotel was really magical. And if you’re looking for Vancouver hotels near convention center, look no further. The Convention Center is part of this complex as well.

Canada Place

Need to know a little about Canada Place? This is where you’ll be sailing from when taking a Disney Cruise to Alaska. This cruise port is fun and unique. And offers plenty for guests to do. In contrast to what many Disney Cruisers may be used to, like Port Canaveral for example. Home to the famous Fly Over Canada attraction, Disney fans will love this since it’s a little like Soarin’. You can take the History Walk, that wraps the building, which is very cool. Plus you can pop into the shops, restaurants, and more in the area before your Disney cruise. In fact, if you have the time we highly recommend you explore Vancouver while you’re there! We’ve rounded up some easy things to do in Vancouver if you’re taking a Disney Cruise to Alaska and don’t have a ton of extra time.

Beds at Deluxe Room Pan Pacific Hotel

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Rooms

There are a variety of rooms available at Pan Pacific. Whether you’re looking for a standard room at the lowest rate, or a large room with plenty of space and a view of the harbor. We stayed in a Deluxe Harbor Room which offers either a King Sized Bed or 2-Double Beds option. Other options are a Deluxe Room, Premiere Room or Suites. All offer either a king bed, or double bed option. If you’re hoping for Queen Sized beds, they’re not as common as you would think. You can however, find rooms with queen sized beds further from port, like at the Sutton Place Hotel.

The rooms at the Pan Pacific Hotel come full stocked with all the amenities. Bottles of water, an espresso and coffee maker, very large TV, robes, a desk and all the little bathroom toiletries. The bathroom here is also quite spacious. And depending on which room you choose, the views of the water and skyline are wonderful. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the port, and could even watch the Disney Wonder pull into the dock.

Drinks at Coal Harbour Bar

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Restaurants

During our stay at Pan Pacific Vancouver, we tried a couple of the restaurants inside the hotel. And weren’t disappointed by any of them. All are located on the lobby level of the hotel. Pan Pacific Vancouver has three restaurants on property; Coal Harbour Bar, Five Sails, and Oceans 999. You can also take advantage of in-room dining, and a slew of nearby eateries within a 5 minute walk. There is a Starbucks at Canada Place as well.

Coal Harbour Bar Pizza

Coal Harbour Bar

One of the main restaurants at the Pan Pacific, you’ll notice as soon as you head to the front desk, because it offers amazing Cruise Ship views. The Coal Harbour Bar features more than small plates and you can geta  full meal here. With a great selection of food and drinks, this is where we got dinner. We tried a few flatbreads and drinks and everything was delicious and service was quick. Live Music is offered Thursday, Friday & Saturday in the evenings. Hours: 11:30 AM- 11:30 PM.

Pan Pacific Hotel Oceans 999

Oceans 999

The restaurant Oceans 999 is where we had breakfast the morning of our cruise. Serving a breakfast buffet and a la cart menu options, everything here was wonderful, including the service. On the weekends you can also get a Saturday Dinner Buffet, or a Sunday Brunch Buffet. If you get the Pan Pacific Hotel Cruise Package your breakfast here is included in your room cost, for 2 people. Either way, be sure to make reservations to eat here, as it can get busy during high travel times. Breakfast Hours: Monday- Saturday 7 AM- 11 AM. Sunday Brunch: 11:30 AM – 2 PM, Saturday Dinner: 6 PM- 9 PM.

Five Sails

While we didn’t eat here, and instead had a fancy tea over at the historic Fairmont Hotel, if we would have had more time, we would have added this restaurant to our list. Offering signature international cuisine, Five Sails Restaurant get you views of the Canada Place Sails and most of the harbor. They offer lunch, dinner, and even an afternoon tea. Very fancy, this place is perfect if you’re celebrating something special as part of your trip. As a result, it is pricey, but unforgettable.

Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Amenities

It will come as no surprise that the Pan Pacific has loads of amenities. In addition to a fantastic location, restaurants, and shops, there are plenty of other things offered at this hotel. There is a Spa Health and Wellness Center, Cruise Luggage Transfer Service, a Fitness Center, and a Direct Elevator to the Cruise Terminal!

Cruise Luggage Transfer

To make sure that your bags board the Cruise Ship, just place your Disney Cruise Tags on your luggage, and call the front desk to let them know you will need them picked up. They will confirm with you when the luggage will be picked up. Cost is typically about $3-$5 per bag for the bell person. All your bags will then be transferred to your cruise ship and that’s it! Super convenient, and made our Disney Cruise Embarkation Day a lot less stressful.

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Pool

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Pool

While we don’t typically pick hotels based on the pool, the Pool at the Pan Pacific Hotel is really the showstopper here. This is an outdoor heated saltwater pool and hot tub, open 6 AM- 10 PM daily. With views of the city on one side and views of the harbor on the other. It’s just a gorgeous scene. It was too cold for us to use the pool during our stay, but there is also a hot tub if that’s your style. There’s also plenty of seating and even a space for watching the cruise ships come in. The hotel provides lockers and towels for those who do want to use the pool. And during the warmer months, there is a little poolside bar open for refreshments.

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Cost

Okay, now for what you really need to know. How much does the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Cost? Typically between $300-$900/ per night depending on when you travel. Though they are THANKFULLY, typically closer to the $300 mark during the Alaska sailing season. Plus, since pricing is in CAD, ( Canadian dollars) a lot of this will depend on your exchange rate. So that is something to consider. Additionally, the time of year you travel will affect the price as well.  During the peak of summer, you can expect these prices to be even higher.

For us, since we only stayed one night, and headed here straight from the train station, the convenience was worth it. Of course, we had already cut some corners on our budget elsewhere, so this little splurge was okay.

Disney Cruise Ship Alaska

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Cruise Package

The Pan Pacific Hotel knows that many of their guests will be cruisers. As a result, they offer a cruise package! Whether or not this is the best deal for you will depend on the size of your party and when you are traveling. But with this package, you get Free Luggage Transfer to the Cruise Port, Breakfast for 2, WiFi and your Room. You can see all of the details about the Cruise Package at Vancouver here. If your cruise is leaving a little later and you can enjoy breakfast, having it available in a Discounted Cruise Hotel Package at Pan Pacific is ideal. Especially since you will want to take advantage of the wi-fi, and luggage transfer anyway.

Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel Review

After years of planning our perfect Disney Cruise to Alaska, we have to say we loved everything about our trip. Including our time in Vancouver. Do we think this is the best hotel near cruise port in Vancouver? Its most likely one of the best. It’s convenient, clean, the service is great. Our room was super spacious, and all of the food we tried here was delicious. Seriously the views cannot be beat, and the hotel itself even has a small shopping area. Truthfully, after seeing so many people dragging their suitcases around Vancouver to get them to port, we were so happy we were able to just call Bell Services and have them take care of it.

That being said, Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver is pricey! But if you’re only staying a night or two it will be worth it. For us, this was a trip that had been delayed for several years and we wanted it to be super relaxed and convenient. Spending a little extra on our hotel helped with that. Of course, there are other options. When we returned to Vancouver from Alaska, we headed to the Sutton Place Hotel, which was a farther from port, but within walking distance of Pacifico Pizzeria, which was fantastic, and Breka, a little French bakery we wanted to try. Frankly, we couldn’t have been happier with our choices on this trip.

If you’re looking for a Vancouver hotel near the Canada Place Cruise Terminal Port, this is a great option! If we ever sail out of Vancouver for a Disney Cruise again, we would definitely consider staying here again. You can watch our full video about Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel here
