If you’re setting sail on a Disney Cruise, then chances are you may be headed for the Caribbean. With fun in the sun, drinks of the day and adult-only activities Disney Castaway Cay is the perfect getaway for Disney Adults. Truly a slice of paradise there’s more here than just stuff for the kids. Here are all our favorite Things to do on Castaway Cay for Adults.
Whenever we take a Disney Cruise, we are always asked if it’s a good vacation for adults. And we always answer YES! There is plenty of adult-only fun that can be had with Disney Cruise Line. From the lounges to the adult-only pool area, you can do a lot as a Disney Adult on a Disney Cruise. And if you’re traveling with children, no worries! Once you arrive on Castaway Cay, you can send the kids along with cast members to Scuttle’s Cove ( ages 3-12) or the Teen Hideout (ages 13-17). Which means you get adult-only time on Disney’s Castaway Cay. Here are the best things to do while you’re on the island.

Contents
Serenity Bay Adult Only Beach
There is an adult-only beach on Disney Castaway Cay known as Serenity Bay. Serenity Bay Beach is located on the opposite side of the island from the family beach, and a little bit of a walk. Which means you’re actually on another part of the island, away from the family beach. Which is unlike the single longer length beach at Lookout Cay.
Accessed by walking, by island tram, or rented bicycle, you can head to the beach as soon as you dock, and set yourself up in a lounge for the day. Peaceful and serene. The waters here are very calm. And there are plenty of chairs perfect for lounging. At Serenity Bay, you can also find live music, the adult-only lunch spot, Serenity Bay Barbeque, and the Castaway Air Bar. The menu at these places is pretty much the same as you’d find around the island, but since they’re in the adult-only section, they tend to be a little less crowded.
Sunrise Yoga At Serenity Bay
Almost as soon as the boat docks on Disney Castaway Cay you can head to Serenity Bay Beach for Sunrise Yoga. Space is limited and you have to register beforehand but it’s a great way to start the day, and lasts about 30 minutes. Taking part in this activity means you also get first dibs on beach loungers! You can find this experience in the Cruise Excursions section of your Disney Cruise Line account if interested.
Get a Massage!
Want to get pampered? Listening to the waves, while you relax is always a good idea. Look no further than getting a massage in an open-air cabana at Serenity Bay. These tend to book up quickly, so you’ll need to reserve this as soon as your booking window opens up. The experience is calming, and available as a service in the app, and website.

Eat Some BBQ
We love barbecue! It feels like every summertime picnic, family event and Sunday afternoon at home. And at Disney Castaway Cay, you can grab food at Serenity Bay BBQ for lunch. And since it’s included with your cruise package, you can eat as much as you like!
Go Snorkeling
As part of the Castaway Cay Getaway package you get a bike rental, inner tube and snorkel equipment. For us this is plenty to fill our day, with so many other things to do on the island. It also gets us the chance to snorkel pretty much anywhere, whether at the family beach ( where you can see a sunken pirate ship) or at Serenity Bay Beach.
Rent a Cabana at Castaway Cay
Want the ultimate luxury? Rent a cabana at Castaway Cay! Although most cabanas are not exclusively for adults, they do offer cabanas at Serenity Bay if you really want to be secluded. Things like a fridge stocked with drinks, a concierge, and more private sections of the beach are the draw here. These tend to go fast and are quite pricey at about $400- $1300 for a Serenity Bay Cabana. So, we recommend reserving yours as soon as your excursion booking window opens.

Grab a Drink!
There are bars on Disney Castaway Cay all over the island. So whether you’re looking to grab a beer, wine or cocktail with views of the ship, from the Heads Up Bar, or something more hidden over at the Castaway Cay Air Bar on Serenity Bay Beach, there are plenty of options.
Most bars can serve up just about anything you like, including the Disney Cruise drink of the day which is typically just $5 and changes each day. It’s a great way to save some money on your Disney Cruise as well as try some new things! And there’s also a non-alcoholic version each day, so if you’re avoiding alcohol, don’t worry. You can still enjoy a nice mixed beverage! You can also head to The Sand Bar located near the Family Beach. Or the Conched Out Bar, which is also near the Family Beaches for a basic lineup of drink options. We also love visiting Olaf’s Summertime Freeze for fancy smoothies and frozen drinks, some of which are alcoholic as well.

Go for a Bike Ride
Considered a Castaway Cay Excursion, you can rent an activity package that includes bike riding, snorkeling and a tube. Since one of our favorite parts of our visits to Disney Castaway Cay is exploring the island, there’s no better way to do that then by bike! You can ride the same trail you would run in the Castaway Cay 5K, which brings you around the island, on a paved trail. The bike trail weaves through the natural areas, and past Serenity Bay beach. It also loops to a wooden tower for seeing the island from an aerial view, and a far off beach, where you can sometimes see the wildlife.

Run the Castaway Cay 5K
If you’re a runner, walker or active family, you can add the Disney Castaway Cay 5K race to your day at Castaway Cay. This self-paced 5K brings you through the trails and is perfect for both kids and adults. You can walk or run it. Simply sign in at the bike rental kiosk on the island to get started. Once you complete your 5K, you can collect your Castaway Cay 5K Medal to take home. We love this as a meaningful Free Disney Cruise Souvenir, and the race was a great way to see the island and give us a bit of a challenge.
As you can see, there is plenty to see and do at Castaway Cay for adults! It really is a little piece of Heaven on Earth and anyone can have a magical time here, no matter their age. Have you been to Castaway Cay?
