A Disney Cruise Birthday Celebration

Disney Cruise Birthday Celebration

If you’re heading on a Disney Cruise to celebrate your birthday, you’re in for a treat! Quite a few of them in fact. As all birthday cruise trips go, there’s nothing like a bunch of special ways to celebrate your special day onboard the ship. From a specialty dessert at the restaurants, to birthday wishes by just about everyone, here are all the things you can expect if you’re sailing the high seas for a Disney Cruise Birthday Celebration.

Wondering how you can get the royal treatment during your Disney Birthday Cruise? Don’t Forget to Check the Birthday Celebration Box! You can see this little checkbox when you’re booking a Disney Cruise, asking if you’re celebrating anything special. Be sure to say YES! You can also do this in the Disney Cruise Navigator App. While checking this box doesn’t get you much, it does alert your room host, and server staff that you’re celebrating.

There are many ways to celebrate your birthday on a Disney Cruise, it doesn’t matter which ship you sail, they always make you feel special. So whether you’re adding some Disney Cruise Birthday Decorations to your stateroom, or just wondering what things you can do to make this Birthday Cruise the best ever, we’re sharing our list to get you started.

Disney Cruise Birthday Cake

A Birthday Treat at Dinner

Okay, so remember the little birthday checkbox, you marked when you booked your cruise, or later in the app? Well, that little checkmark means a special birthday song at dinner, and a little piece of cake! Woohoo! It also just means a whole lot more fun. The servers love birthdays and always get a few of the other staff to join in too! Plus, sometimes you’ll also get a special napkin hat… which is a whole lot more fun than it sounds. Mind you, this little cake is “little,” but a lovely gesture and reminder that your day is worth celebrating.

From Disney Cruise Birthday Decorations to souvenirs and treats, there are plenty of things to choose from. Themes like Halloween on the High Seas, Marvel, or Pixar at Sea usually have decorations that include blankets and ceiling decorations. Your stateroom host will have this all set up for you when you arrive. Just like magic! Check out the Disney Cruise Birthday Package options for your cruise.

Disney Cruise Birthday Celebration Cake

Each departure port will have a different lineup of treats available, but you can almost always depend on a Mickey or Minnie Cake being available to purchase, and have sent to your room. This is a fun addition to your cruise if you’re throwing a little Disney Cruise Birthday Party in your room. Cakes are typically about $55 each, and must be ordered ahead of time. You can alternatively grab something smaller like a cupcake for about $10 each.

Order Something Special

From champagne to flowers to treats, you can order a bunch of different things to help you celebrate the day. Just check out the Disney Cruise Onboard Gifts website for all the options of things you can have sent to your room. The selection varies by itinerary but it’s always worth a look.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disney Cruise

Visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

If the birthday girl or boy is 12 or under, make a reservation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a royal makeover. Unlike the Walt Disney World and Disneyland versions, this experience tends to be a little easier to get. This experience can be booked before your cruise, and sometimes there are even spots available after boarding.

Several dress up options are available for princes, princesses, pirates, knights, and even Captain Mickey.  Check all the details for the Disney Cruise Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique onboard your ship. Prices range from $100- $200 per child, unless you aim for the signature packages, which are closer to $450 each.

Untangled Salon

Book a Salon Appointment

Why not stop in the salon for a manicure or fresh haircut and style? Offering a luxurious salon experience at sea, appointments are easy to get. Just check the Disney Cruise Navigator App for available times, and costs or just stop by. On the Disney Treasure, Wish and Destiny, you can grab salon services at the Untangled Salon and Hook’s Barbery. On the other ships you can get salon services at Senses Spa and Salon. Hair services start at $29. And a Mani/Pedi combo is about $129. Of course prices change depending on what you book.

Senses Spa on the Disney Cruise Wish

Head to Senses Spa

Maybe your Disney Cruise Birthday is all about relaxing. If so, why not head to the Spa instead. Everything from morning yoga classes, to specialty juice drinks, massages, sauna and acupuncture await! You can treat yourself to a facial and mud wrap or head to the Disney Cruise Rainforest Room for some luxury. The Rainforest Room cost starts at about $39 per day, or you can book it for your entire voyage.

Palo Brunch Disney Wonder Panna Cotta

Book a Signature Dining Experience

No matter which ships you’re cruising on, there’s always a fancy adult-only dinner that can be had. Whether you’re up for a multi-course meal at Remy or Brunch at Palo, there is also an extra special dining experience offered. These are Adult-Only dining experiences, and do cost extra. However, we think it’s well worth the effort to make your reservations and have a nice meal. Brunch at Palo is only about $50 and the food is fantastic. Plus, it gives you a reason to casually dress up and go out, which is fun for birthdays anyway!

Be sure to book your signature dining experience as soon as Excursion Booking Window opens up. It’s usually not too difficult to get a reservations, but if you can’t snag one beforehand, try again once you’re onboard. Just check the Disney Navigator App. Disney Cruise Line usually keeps a small amount of these reservations for onboard booking as well.

Adult Deck on a Disney Cruise

Just Relax and Do Nothing!

Now for our favorite kind of birthday activity on a Disney Birthday Cruise; doing nothing! That’s right! Wake up with room service delivered for breakfast. Head to the decks to cozy up with a good book. Grab a lounger, and stare out into the ocean, grab one of the Rainforest Room loungers, or a coffee or drink, and just relax. Take in everything amazing around you, and honor the day.

Hopefully this post has given you some great ideas to help celebrate your special day on a Disney Cruise.
