There are a ton of hotels near Port Everglades cruise port. They come in all price ranges along with a variety of amenities. We recently stayed at the Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel for our pre-cruise stay before our Disney cruise out of Port Everglades. If you’re looking for a hotel near Port Everglades cruise terminal, read on to see if this may be the right pre- or post- cruise for your next cruise out of Fort Lauderdale.

Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel

The Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport hotel is a Marriott hotel near both Fort Lauderdale Airport and the Port Everglades cruise terminal. This hotel is considerably more budget-friendly than some of the other hotels in the area. So while it may not be on the beach with sprawling ocean views like some Fort Lauderdale hotels, it does have some pretty great features at an affordable price. Guests can enjoy a rooftop pool and bar, with views of the cruise terminal from atop. The conveniences of the complimentary airport shuttle and the reasonably priced cruise terminal make this an excellent option for travelers flying into Fort Lauderdale Airport.

Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel Rooms

Guests can find a variety of room types at the Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport hotel. Whether you need one king bed or two queens, want a corner room or a room with a balcony, this hotel has you covered. The rooms are updated, clean and comfortable. They are equipped with a walk-in shower, coffee maker, mini fridge and small dining nook.

The only thing that is a little undesirable (to me) in these rooms is that there is no door separating the main bed room/living area from the shower. There is a door that closes off the toilet from the vanity and shower. But the shower is basically out in the open, not leaving much room for privacy. Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel Transportation

To and from Fort Lauderdale airport, the hotel offers a free airport shuttle. If using this shuttle service when arriving into Fort Lauderdale, you’ll just want to give the hotel a call and they’ll let you know where to meet. If you’re going to the airport from the hotel, you’ll just let the front desk know when you need the shuttle and they’ll make sure you get there. The airport is about a 10-12 minute ride from the hotel.

To get to and from the Port Everglades Cruise Terminal, the hotel itself doesn’t offer shuttle transportation. But they do have a 3rd party supplier located in the lobby. You can stop by the desk and let them know that you need transportation. The shuttle leaves every 30 minutes, and the ride to the cruise terminal is about 10-15 minutes. This will cost $12 per person, per way.

Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel Restaurants

There are no actual restaurants inside of the Aloft Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. But they do have food options available at the hotel. In the lobby, you’ll find Re:Fuel, which offers a breakfast buffet and a la carte items in the morning. The breakfast buffet is $15 per person, and you can expect to pay between $7-$12 per item for a la carte items. During the day, you can find snacks, salads, sandwiches and other grab and go options available for purchase.

In addition to Re:Fuel, Aloft offers WXYZ bar in the lobby with a complete menu of cocktails and craft beers. And the rooftop bar, Splash, offers a similar menu.

Is there a Shuttle from Aloft Fort Lauderdale to the Cruise Terminal?

For Port Everglades shuttle service at this Aloft hotel, there is a third party situated in the lobby. This is operated by Lauderdale Hospitality. The cost for this service is $12 per person, and you can schedule both rides from the hotel along with rides from the cruise terminal.

This shuttle service actually offers transportation all around Fort Lauderdale so if you aren’t staying here but still need cruise terminal transportation, give them a call!

What Disney Cruise Port is in Fort Lauderdale?

The Disney Cruise Port at Fort Lauderdale is Port Everglades. And Disney now has their own dedicated terminal at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. This is great news since almost all Disney Destiny itineraries will depart from this port, along with one of the classic ships, on a fairly regular schedule.

Can you Use Marriott Bonvoy Points to Stay at Aloft Fort Lauderdale?

Yes, you can! As long as there are Points stays available for your dates, you can book this using points. This is actually one of the least expensive Marriott hotels near Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, and we think it’s a great value. Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel Review

Though the Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport hotel may not be on the beach, its location makes it a convenient choice for pre-cruise travelers. If you’re sailing with Disney Cruise Line, this is not a partnered hotel, meaning that it is not a hotel that Disney promotes and you can’t book Disney transportation to Port Everglades from here. I don’t necessarily think this is a bad thing, as the Disney partnered hotels tend to be quite pricey, and so is their transportation to this specific port.

The Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport hotel is a great choice for travelers and cruisers who are looking for a comfortable, clean, no frills option, maybe with the small frill of rooftop pool and bar, which is pretty minimal, but nice. The free airport shuttle is a lovely amenity, and being able to book your cruise transportation right in the lobby makes getting around so easy.

Overall, we really enjoyed this hotel before our Disney Cruise! As I mentioned before, the layout was a little weird, but I had no issues with anything else. Service was great, the room was a good size and for one night stay, it really had everything I needed.
