Disney Magic Deck Plans
Location is important when choosing your room. What do you want to be near? What do you want to avoid? For instance, if you want to be close to the pools, and quick service restaurants, aim for one of the higher decks, as Deck 9 is where all the action takes place. Want a room away from all the noise and chaos? Decks 6-7 are safe bets and only have staterooms. Or maybe you get sea sick and would rather one of the lowest decks, so you have less motion.
Whatever your preference, you can find the Disney Magic Deck plans here. And from there, you can see if the location of this room is right for you. Room 2588 on the Disney Magic is located midship on Deck 2. This location makes it convenient to get up to the atrium, which is Deck 3 midship. And it’s also pretty convenient to the restaurants and shows on Decks 3 and 4.
One thing to note is that laundry is a bit far from this location. It’s in the opposite hallway, so if you plan to do laundry on your trip, just be aware that you will have to travel a bit to get your laundry done.
Another super important thing to note about the location of this stateroom is that is pretty much directly under Lumiere’s. Lumiere’s is one of the main dining rooms on the Disney Magic. And the staff working the second dinner rotation work pretty late. So you can often hear clanking of dishes as they are cleaning up from dinner.

Disney Magic Staterooms
The rooms on the Disney Magic are pretty classic “Disney Cruise Line” style. Their size is based on the category. And they have tubs in the bathrooms, which is unique to Disney Cruise Line in general. The Disney Magic offers many different types of staterooms to choose from, inside rooms to concierge 2-bedroom suites. They have something for everyone in all types of budgets, so you can decide what is best for you! And no matter which room you choose, you can always make things feel extra special with Disney Cruise Stateroom Door Decorations.
It is important to note that in staterooms with a porthole, there are rooms that have one large porthole and some that have two smaller ones. On our very first Disney Cruise over a decade ago, we didn’t know this fun fact and ended up choosing a room with two small portholes. Though these are usually a little bit cheaper, we do feel that it is worth the extra for a large porthole when possible.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with large porthole on the Disney Magic 2588
When we stayed in this room, it was booked as a Guaranteed Room, so we didn’t have the option of choosing our room location. Booking it as a Guaranteed room saved us a lot of money. But that also meant that our location was completely up to Disney. This is a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with one large porthole in category 9C.
The room itself was clean and comfortable, and we loved the large porthole! For a full tour of room 2588 on the Disney Magic, click here.
Bed options in room 2588 on the Disney Magic
A 9C category Disney Magic Stateroom, this can sleep 3-4 people. This room in particular sleeps 3 because it does not have an upper berth bed that pulls down from the ceiling. This room has a queen bed and a couch that turns into a twin. Both beds are very comfortable and are everything we’ve come to expect from Disney Cruise Line!
View from the Porthole in Room 2588 on the Disney Magic
The view from this Disney Magic stateroom was pretty standard. This cruise was to Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, so our view was pretty standard of the ocean. I always like the views from Deck 2 because they aren’t views you can really get anywhere else on the ship!

Bathrooms on the Disney Magic Room 2588
The bathroom in this Disney Magic stateroom is the standard split bathroom combo we have come to know and love. One room has a toilet and sink. And the other room has a shower, tub and sink. This makes getting ready in the mornings and evenings easier as multiple mirrors and sinks are available.
Storage in room 2588 on the Disney Magic
The storage in Disney Magic staterooms tends to be pretty good! They have plenty of closet space, multiple shelves, and drawers so you can easily unpack your things. The amount of storage is actually quite good in terms of cruise staterooms! And the bed is raised, so you can fit your suitcase underneath as well to keep it out of the way.

Would we recommend Room 2588 on the Disney Magic?
In general, no we would not! Though this room was comfortable and clean, it was way too noisy for us to be able to recommend to most people. We loved that it was midship, and it was pretty close to the stairway. But if we had chosen a room just a bit more forward, we could have avoided the noise coming from Lumiere’s. If you’re a light sleeper, or have smaller children that go to bed early, this would likely not be a good choice for you. Since we did save a considerable amount on this stateroom by booking Guaranteed and we go to bed a little later, it was ok for us. But we know it’s not an ideal situation when you’re on vacation.
