Arendelle A Frozen Dining Adventure on the Disney Wish

The Disney Wish Cruise Ship brought with it a lot of new and interesting experiences, and the Arendelle: Frozen Dining Adventure is one of them. As one of the three main dining rooms on the Disney Wish, and part of your rotational dining experience, you won’t want to miss this! With a themed space, themed food and live entertainment, here is everything you need to know about Arendelle onboard the Disney Wish.

Dining on the Disney Wish is an adventure all itself. The Disney Wish, like all Disney Cruises, uses what’s known as a rotational dining system. There are three main restaurants for dinner on the Disney Wish. And guests will rotate through all of them during their cruise for dinner each night. On the Disney Wish, you’ll find 1923, Arendelle and Worlds of Marvel.

Arendelle is one of three main dining rooms on the Disney Wish. And is your “dinner and a show” dining experience. Much like Rapunzel’s Royal Table on the Disney Magic, this features a band(what is it called) that entertains you for most of the dinner. And appearances from your favorite Frozen characters throughout. Arendelle seems to have gotten a lot of mixed reviews since the Disney Wish began sailing. But we loved it. It’s really just a matter of preference. 

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure Atmosphere

Arendelle is very well thought out in terms of theming and decor. The experience begins as soon as you enter the restaurant. With decor inspired by the movie, you might just feel like you’re actually there! The theming is very well done in this area, so take some time to really explore and enjoy all of the details that have gone into decorating this space.

The atmosphere at Arendelle can change a lot based on where you are sitting. Generally, it’s like a party. It’s a bit loud, and musical and fun, with all the action taking place on a center stage right in the middle of the restaurant.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure Characters

Character appearances at restaurants onboard Disney Cruises are a little bit different than you may be used to character meals at Disneyworld. There’s not as much interaction as there is in the Parks. And the characters generally are just stopping by your table for a quick “hello “and then are on their merry way. Yes, you can get photos with or of them most of the time, but oftentimes they swing by your table, thank you for coming and then move onto the next table pretty fast. 

So it’s good to know who you can expect to see when dining here! At Arendelle, you’ll find Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and sometimes, if you’re lucky, you may get to see Olaf. Now this is something that may or may not happen depending on whether Olaf is actually working that day. He wasn’t during our cruise. But we’ve heard more and more that guests on the Disney Wish are able to see him more consistently.

The menu at Arendelle on the Disney Wish contains Nordic-inspired dishes, along with a few classics.

Bread Service

Appetizers

Appetizers include items like salmon, asparagus, scallops and an apple and ham tart. These were fantastic, and not too heavy.

• Anna’s Koldtbord – “Hot” Smoked Salmon, Smoked Fiord Trout Horseradish Lefse, Salmon Gravlax, Sweet Shrimp, Dill Honey Mustard, Crisp Knackerbrot
• Blushing Oaken’s Chilled White and Green Asparagus – Pea Tendrils, Heirloom Tomatoes, Radish, Dill
• Elsa’s Royal Baked Scallops – Shrimp Tarragon Bisque, Rainbow Carrots, Leeks, flaky Pastry
• Jarlsberg Cheese & Rosemary Ham Tart – Gala Apple, Williams Pear Compote

Soups & Salads

Soups and salads include Sven’s Carrot Soup, Split Yellow Pea Soup and Cucumber, Potato and Carrot Salad to name a few. We most liked the carrot soup, recommended to us by our server.

Entrees

And for main dishes things like Pork Tenderloin, Chilean Sea Bass and Kjottkake (egg noodles and meatballs) can be found on the menu. Vegetarians have a couple options here with the Potato Lefse and Kaldomar.

You can expect to find a wide array of alcoholic beverages like wines, beers, ciders and specialty cocktails. Worth Melting For and Warm Hugs are two of the nonalcoholic specialty drinks, that cost extra, but are such fun.

And of course little ones get their own menu here, for ages 3-9. On the kids’ menu, there is also the delicious Olaf’s Campfire S’mores Bar and if you like S’mores, we highly recommend this.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure Olaf’s Royal Picnic

In addition to being a main dining room, Arendelle is also home to Olaf’s Royal Picnic. This is a special experience for guests ages 3-12 that does cost extra and must be booked ahead of time. Join Olaf, Elsa, Anna and Kristoff for a fun summer picnic. The restaurant gets a bit of a makeover with all things sun and summer to prepare for this special occasion. Even the menu is all about summer. Serving up a variety of finger sandwiches, salads, and beverages like lemonade and tea, there it’s everything you would expect from a picnic in Arendelle. Desserts include an assortment of cupcakes, carrot cake, shortbread cookies and more.

As part of the event, each child gets to bring home a special set of gifts as a keepsake of their experience. Including headwear, a cinch bag, a mandolin, a troll plush, a troll necklace, a water bottle, an activity book, and a picnic blanket. Olaf’s Royal Picnic is a specially priced experience, and not included in your Disney Cruise. Priced at $220 per child and $69 per adult. This experience must be reserved.

Arendelle: a Frozen Dining Adventure Restaurant Review

Overall, we really enjoyed this dining experience with Disney Cruise Line. The food was good, the entertainment was fun and the space itself was pretty incredible. We loved that the character interactions were short and sweet. And we loved the overall festive atmosphere. It really did feel like a celebration, and we were happy to be a part of it!
