Disney Wish Deck Plans

Location is only important if you know the overall layout of the ship. You can find the Disney Wish Deck plans here. And from there, you can see if the location of this room is right for you. Room 6162 on the Disney Wish is located at the aft on the port side.  Some people wonder what the benefit of being able to choose your room on a cruise is. There are a lot of things that might sway you to book one location over another. But it’s really a matter of personal preference? Want a great view of Castaway Cay from your room? Book a room on the Starboard side. A little worried about sea sickness? Book somewhere midship and on a lower deck if possible. Take a look at the deck plans and see what works for you!

Disney Wish Staterooms

The rooms on the Disney Wish are “themed”, though we do feel that using that word to describe them is a little misleading. They’re not really themed as much as they just have artwork for each of them. It’s beautiful, but some people have been let down by the wording, thinking the room would be a full on Cinderella or Frozen theme. While this is not the case, the staterooms on the Disney Wish are bright and modern. And the artwork really does add a little something special to the room. If you love the artwork, you can even purchase a print onboard!

We booked this room when itineraries for the Disney Wish were first announced. So basically, no one had seen the rooms. This room wasn’t our first choice, but after a few of our top contenders had already sold out, we booked Disney Wish Stateroom 6162 is a deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah in Category 5C.  Read on for a full review and photos of room 61612 on the Disney Wish.

Bed options in room 6162 on the Disney Wish

A 5C category Disney Wish stateroom can sleep 3-4 people. This room in particular sleeps 3 because it does not have the bed that pulls down from the ceiling. In this room you’ll find a queen size bed and a couch that converts into a twin bed.  The bed is super comfortable, but we found the couch bed to be just a little hard. That may be because it was new though as we were on the September sailing during its inaugural year.

As you can see, the view is a bit obstructed by these life boats. That was a little bit disappointing to be honest, since it definitely obstructed our view a bit.  Obviously, safety is important and we want all the life boats we can get right? But advertising this as a regular verandah feels a little overzealous to me.

Bathrooms on the Disney Wish Room 6162

One unique feature on the Disney Cruise ships is the split bathrooms in most rooms. These bathrooms make it super easy for families to get ready, or just not have to worry about when someone needs to take a shower. They are split into two rooms. One with a toilet and sink. And one with a shower, tub and sink.  The bathrooms on the Disney Wish are modern and bright and currently come stocked with the H2O products we have grown to love.

Storage in room 6162 on the Disney Wish

As much as we did love the new look of the rooms, there was a little bit of an issue with practicality. These rooms are not built for longer itineraries, so it will be interesting to see if the Disney Wish ever evolves into a ship that does do longer routes. There is very little storage space for things like clothes. There is plenty of open shelving for things that you’re ok with being displayed. However the drawers are tiny and half of the closet space is taken up the safe and life jackets. I am someone who prefers to unpack while I’m on vacation. So if this is you, I would recommend bringing packing cubes so that you can set them on the shelves in the closet. Otherwise, there’s just not a lot of space to put things.

There is some room for hanging items, so if you’re bringing attire for dining at Palo, or sundresses for warmer weather, there is a little bit of space here. The bed is high enough though that you can store your luggage underneath, as long it’s not too large, which we did appreciate.

Would we recommend Room 6162 on the Disney Wish?

No, we wouldn’t. The location of the room is not bad, however, the placement of the extra lifeboats not only obstructs your view some, but they were also quite noisy at night. If you’re a light sleeper, this would likely keep you awake. Honestly, we feel that this room should have been designated as a room with an obstructed view and therefore been slightly cheaper than regular verandahs. In the future, we would not choose this room again and we generally tend to recommend against staying here. For a full guide to the Disney Wish, click here!
