One of our favorite things to do while on Disney Cruises is look out for all the details. The imagineers spend a good amount of time putting effort and creativity into these spaces, so we always try to look around and really appreciate what they’ve created! Here are some Fun Facts About the Disney Wish Cruise Ship.
The Disney Wish is a little different than Disney’s original four ships in that it doesn’t embody a classic or timeless theme to the ship. The theme of the Disney Wish is “Enchantment” which in theory definitely sounds cute and whimsical. But also doesn’t really convey a specific feeling or artistic style. Because of this, the theme lends to pretty much anything. And that’s kind of the point.
Though the theme itself is a little bit murky, there are still plenty of elements on the Disney Wish that we thought the imagineers did a fantastic job. And we couldn’t be more excited that there are 10 Things on the Disney Wish you can only see and do on this boat. Since we originally sailed on one of the earlier cruises of the Disney Wish it was a lot of fun discovering all the little details alongside the cast members! Here are a few Fun Facts About the Disney Wish to discover onboard.
Cinderella Carpet on the Disney Wish
Disney Imagineers love telling stories with carpet. I have no idea why, but I know that they do! Every Disney Cruise ship has stories to tell with its carpet and we are here for these kinds of little details. The carpet that can be found in the atrium as well as the rest of the main common areas, is a dark blue color with whimsical curves and shapes.
But if you look closely, you’ll be able to see lots of little Cinderella elements! Jaq and Gus Gus can be found there. Cinderella’s slipper can be found in this design and so can the pumpkins and carriage! Once you start looking for them, it’s hard to stop. So take some time out of your day and have a look!
Cinderella Sconces on the Disney Wish
Another fun Cinderella nod is the sconces on the walls of Decks 3, 4 and 5. These include detailing of the bows of her dress, pumpkins and a spool of thread at the base of the sconce. This is a minor detail that I don’t know many people will care about. But I thought it was fun!
Cinderella Light Fixtures in the Stateroom Hallways
In the stateroom hallways, the light fixtures are really quite magical. Featuring Cinderella’s carriage and horses in some areas. And just the carriage in other areas. Regardless, they are a fun touch added to the staterooms and add a bit of whimsy to otherwise ordinary lights.
Room Number Plates in the Stateroom Hallways
The staterooms on the Disney Wish are themed. Depending on which section of the ship you’re staying in, you could get Cinderella, Princess and the Frog, Frozen, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid or Moana. The room number plates are also themed! You can find a seashell, a pumpkin or the Owl from Sleeping Beauty.
The Frog in The Bayou
We love The Bayou on the Disney Wish. This is one of our favorite lounge spaces on this ship. And the details are just amazing. One of our favorite details in this lounge is the frog statue. Many people walk right by it without noticing, but it’s really quite cute.
Wallpaper in the Elevators on the Disney Wish
Though there are some things we don’t particularly love about the elevators on the Disney Wish, the inside of them is very cute. With fun wallpapers representing Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. These fun wallpapers are adorable, so even if you’re not someone who often takes the elevators during your cruise, we recommend doing it once just to check out the cute artwork!
