The Bayou Disney Wish Lounge Review

The Bayou Disney Wish Lounge Review

On the Disney Wish Cruise ship you can find a lot of Lounge and Bar spaces. And just like most Disney Cruises, you can bet they’re exquisitely decorated, and themed to a favorite Disney film. This one, The Bayou, honors all things New Orleans. With Princess and the Frog decor, Tiana’s famous man catchin’ beignets, and a variety of cocktails, drinks and coffees, The Bayou, is one of our favorite bars on the Disney Wish. Of course, as the main open lounge on Deck 3 of the Disney Wish, there’s a few things to know before you go.

The Bayou Details

The Bayou on the Disney Wish is a Disney Cruise lounge where you can not only order drinks and a few food items, but can also listen to live music and enjoy onboard activities. Whether you’re looking for a nice place to relax on the Disney Wish, or somewhere to grab a drink, The Bayou offers a unique experience you can’t find at other places onboard.

This lounge space is beautiful, with hanging flowers from the ceiling, varying colors of green velvet chairs and booths and little nods to the Princess and the Frog throughout. A Prince Naveen frog statue, can also be seen, along side lily pads, and delicate gold detailing. This lounge is raised, but steps down to a little are with an open stage. Seating is offered at the bar, in booths and at tables.

The Bayou Hours

As an open lounge space on the main floor of the Disney Wish, The Bayou is unique in that it offers a variety of morning menu items, and acts as a family activity space throughout the day. This lounge serves specialty lattes in the morning hours until around noon, then shifts in the afternoon to the full bar, before becoming an adult-only space in the evening.

The Bayou Location

The Bayou on the Disney Wish is a Princess and the Frog themed lounge located on Deck 3, midship. It’s right off the atrium so it’s super easy to find.

Is The Bayou for Adults Only?

Not during the day! The Bayou is a family friendly lounge onboard the Disney Wish. Since there are crafts and activities held there throughout the day, it’s a great place to go with the family unless the activity is noted as adult only. Generally around dinner time this space does become Adult-Only but that sometimes varies.

The Bayou Cost

You can expect prices for drinks to be fairly standard Disney Cruise drink prices ranging from about $9-$15. With the exception of the Smoked Fashioned, which will put you back a whole $20. We don’t think this drink is particularly worth that cost. But the presentation is fun. Beignets will set you back about $1.50 each, with that price getting cheaper when you buy more. Bonus! And wine is typically about $11 a glass, with the exception of certain brands.

Bayou Disney wish Activity Area

The Bayou Activity Space

Almost all the Disney Cruise Lounges during the day offer activities for families and adults. From Trivia Games, to Crafts, to Classes you can check the Activity Schedule in the My Disney Navigator App, for all the details. But you can also just head to the lounge and settle in for whatever may be happening any day of your cruise.

There is often also Live Music offered in this space at certain times throughout the cruise. As it’s nestled between the shops, and down the hallway to the theater, it is often bustling in the evenings.

The Bayou Review

The Bayou was actually one of our favorite spaces on the Disney Wish! It’s beautiful and has a great selection of menu options. The space itself is a little small for its intended purposes of holding activities there. But during the times when no scheduled activities are planned, there are plenty of comfortable seats available. Aesthetically, this lounge is stunning.

The beignets were always delicious, and we loved having a quiet space in the mornings to sit an enjoy coffee. We tried a variety of drinks during the duration of our cruise. The Smoked Fashioned was our least favorite, and very expensive. But the mimosas, juices, lattes, Orleans Crusta, and their house made Orange Soda was all delicious.  The Bayou is definitely worth a visit during your next cruise on the Disney Wish!
