Mickey’s Tree Lighting on the Very Merrytime Cruise
Mickey’s Tree Lighting on the Disney Christmas Cruise was one of our favorite events on the Very Merrytime Cruise. And it happens on the first night. Mickey, Minnie, and their pals come out in their festive attire and light up not only the tree but the whole atrium! Garlands and wreaths throughout the ship get lit up and suddenly it feels just like Christmas.
This is definitely not to be missed, but we will warn you, this fills up fast. There are usually two showings so everyone has an opportunity to watch the show, so be sure to check your DCL navigator app to make sure you don’t miss it.

Meet the Disney Characters in Christmas Outfits
Even if you’re not a huge fan of character meets, you have to meet at least one character on the Very Merrytime Cruise! Ok, so technically you don’t have to do anything…. but we highly recommend it. When sailing a Disney Christmas Cruise you get to see your favorite characters in holiday outfits. And they are different than the ones you’ll find in the Parks! Plus, who doesn’t love meeting Mickey?! In his Christmas outfit? What a swell guy!

Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Deck Party
Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday deck party is the event of the cruise! This holiday-themed deck cruise features singing, dancing and all your favorite Disney pals. Goofy is a bit down this holiday season, and his friends are here to cheer him up! Get into the holiday spirit with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Chip and Dale and some more festive friends as they help Goofy through the holiday. You never know who might show up!

Storytime with Mrs. Claus
This event happens multiple times throughout your cruise, but we recommend attending at least once. Mrs. Claus does such a wonderful job storytelling. And there is often complimentary cocoa and cookies in the atrium while this is going on. This is a must-do if you have little ones! They will love the downtime and engaging storytelling of Mrs. Claus.

Visit with Santa Claus
How can you do a Very Merrytime Christmas cruise without seeing Santa?! Santa shows up on the first night during the Christmas Tree lighting and then mulitple times throughout the cruise for in person visits. Whether you want to tell visit with him and tell him your wishlist or just see him as he’s wandering the ship, there are plenty of opportunities to see Father Christmas.
